PFANN -- DARCH
Wedding at the Home of Mr. and Mrs. James Darch of Byron.
Byron, Dec. 2. -- The home of Mr. and Mrs. James Darch was the scene of a happy event yesterday, when their daughter, Marian J., was united in marriage to Harry A. Pfann of Elba, the ring ceremony being performed by the Rev. F. J. Kennedy Jr., of South Byron. Herbert Darch Jr., nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.
Promptly at 2 p.m., to the strains of a wedding march played by Mrs. George Darch, the bridal party entered the parlor. The bride and groom were attended by the bride's parents who were married 35 years ago. They took their position in a bay window, banked with ferns and potted plants, beneath a canopy of evergreen, from which a large horseshoe of white carnations was suspended. The bride wore a gown of white satin, striped Madras, trimmed with lace and insertion. The bride's mother also wore a gown of white.
Immediately after the ceremony the bride and groom received the congradulations of the guests and then proceeded to the dining room, where a bountiful dinner was served by Mrs. L. G. Leonard, the Byron caterer. Louis, Herbert, Willis, and George Darch acted as waiters. Covers with laid for eight at the bride's table, which was decorated with ferns and white chrysanthemums. The gifts to the bride were many and beautiful, including silver, linen, rugs, cut glass, etc.
Mr. and Mrs. Pfann left for an eastern trip amid a shower of rice and best wishes. The bride's traveling suit was of dark blue serge, with hat to match. Guests were present from Bethany, Rochester, Batavia, Buffalo, Elba, and Bergen.
